2014 1st Round NFL Draft Pick – 27th Overall

NFL All-Rookie Team Member

The Arizona Cardinals selected Deone Bucannon (pronounced “day own”) in the first round (27th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. After a stellar rookie year, The Pro Football Writers of America named Deone to the NFL All-Rookie team.

Originally from Fairfield, California, Deone attended Vanden High School before attending Washington State University where he earned first-team All-American honors and was a semi-finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s top defensive back!

In 2015, Deone led the Arizona Cardinals in tackles with 112, playing a new hybrid position (a safety playing the linebacker position) as he became known as not a safety, nor a linebacker, but instead, his coaches started calling him the “Moneybacker”.
